Captain (RET) Merak Carson
[ On Leave of Absence ]
At the age of 10 Merak lost his mother when the Borg attacked Wolf 359. His mother being a Starfleet officer, she was stationed on one of the ships that were destroyed by the Borg. In her last act as Merak mother. She put him in an escape pod and jettisons it minutes before their ship exploded.
72 hours after the battle Merak’s escape pod was picked up by a Starfleet vessel sent to investigate the area. All Merak knows of this time was that the next thing he knew he was back on Mars in the house of his Grandfather. More like his adopted Grandfather, being that his mother was adopted by this man. A Trill by the name of Hulas. Merak was weary of the man at first never meeting him before but soon grew to love the Trill.
It was a year after living with his Grandfather and the most important person or person’s I should say come into Merak life. Jonar, Nona and their daughter Maya. Merak hit it off with the family right away and his Grandfather was happy to see Merak with someone his own age. With his Grandfather job what it was, (Part of the group assigned by the Federation to work with the Terra formers.)
Merak’s Grandfather spent five years with that assignment. In that time Merak and Maya bond had grown very strong. So much so that Merak grown to love Maya. Except it was more of a brotherly love. There departure from each other was hard. Merak had a feeling it was harder for Maya then it was for him. This was do to the fact that while he had grown attached to people and cared for them. He learned early on that nothing last forever.
During this time Merak had also learned to be a pilot. Flying all sorts of shuttle craft as well as other smaller vehicles. It was also during this time that Merak had grown into his fondness for the late 20th early 21st centuries. Especially the aircraft from those times. He passion for these type of aircraft centred on the fighters of a war known to human history as World War II.
His love of flying was so much that when he turned of age he joined the Starfleet academy to learn how to fly the great big star ship. During his time in the Academy Merak study Japanese Martial art for of Kendo and Aikido. (Kendo: The way of the Sword. Aikido: "the Way of harmonious spirit.") However as much as the meaning of these two types of martial art are Merak does not follow the teaching exactly. Much to the annoyance of his Sensei.
However his first permeate assignment was to Deep Space 14 as a Runabout pilot. Merak enjoyed this assignment and soon became well know in the sector as the pilot you wanted when it was hitting the fan. After a few years honing is skills as one of the best pilots in Starfleet. Merak got his orders to the USS Authority. A Nova class ship, which Merak thought was great. He liked the idea of piloting a small ship then the bigger ships in the fleet.
It was there that he ran into his childhood friend Maya. Who happened to be stationed on the Authority as well.
While aboard USS Authority Merak went on several mission and perfomed very well in every task. Hoever on his first mission assigned to USS Authority, he lost his artifial arm, and had to have it replaced with the help of Maya and Petty Officer 3rd Class Kentaro Bowman. During his recovery time in sickbay Merak learned of the full hearty mission that Lt Commander Siobhan MacCristen was injured during this mission. It was at this time that new feeling started to arise in him toward his then seinor officer. These feeling only incressed with time and soon a relationship was started between them, while on shore leave.
Durnig his time on shore leave Merak entered and won the anueal airrace on Kuraka. IT was also while on shore leave and after the race that Merak found out that he had a daughter he never knew about. Emma (Milner) Carson, was the daughter of him and an long time old love by the name of Angela Milner. However, shortly after finding out this information and and growing closer with Siobhan. Merak recived orders from the Federation Couicel for a very delicate mission.

| Physical Description | Merak has a Tattoo of a Chinese Dragon on his left chest and run down to his left elbow, with the head lying on his chest. This was done to help cover a burn scar on that portion of his skin. That he got during the Borg attack on his mothers ship. With the scared skin gives the affect of scales for the Dragon. Merak is muscular but not overly so. Broad shoulders and chest. His Sandy Brown hair comes down past his shoulders. However when on duty he pulls it back into a pony tail. He has a trimmed goatee that has some tint of red in it when he allows it t get thicker. This is not very often. |

| Merak can be a bit harsh at times when it comes to speaking his mind. He does not believe in pulling any punches or putting up with any BS. He does tend not to join in on group activities unless it is something that he has an interest in. Not very good with the woman so this cause Merak to stay focused on playing his guitar or going to the holodeck and running a flight program. | ||

| Dislikes: Classical music and classic plays from the same time. Performing arts in general are not something you will find Merak taking part of. Likes: He does enjoying Country Music and what we call today Classic rock. Enjoys a cold beer over other alcohol. (Which is hard to get in deep space) |

| Merak like to listen to and play music from the late 20th to the early 21st century. For his playing of this music Merak is quite good at playing the guitar. He also enjoys spending time on the holodeck flying old aircraft. Such as fighter from WW II and before the jet age. If not doing these two things you will find Merak relaxing in his quarters or performing his martial arts | ||
